So - why bother with a website anyhow?
Baring Witness? In a manner of speaking ... S.E.Ingraham muses, rants, puts it all down in - well not black and white, I guess - but brown and ... nevermind; the colours don't matter and to begin with, neither will the witnessing ... much of what you'll find here will be poetic or photographic. But, come to think of it - both poetry and photos are testaments so let the witnessing begin.
There will be: as mentioned ...poetry plus: reviews, opinions - oh yes - probably lots of those - speculations but not likely idle ones and, rememberings (oh alright - call them memoirs if you insist) and links to other stuff you might find cool ... you will just have to tune in from time to time to see what's happening
This is Jack. He's our first grandchild. You can expect to see many pictures of this guy. He's amazing, not just because he's so photogenic but as you can see - he is that! Jack is not camera-shy but the day I took this picture, he wasn't feeling so hot - that's why he's wearing his, "Really Grandma? Another picture? Really?" face - at least, that's what I imagine he's thinking. I will be happy when Jack gets his words. I imagine he'll be pretty happy too.

As early as next year, there will be more people over 65 than under 14in Canada; we will be the longest-living generation in the history of the world ... why is this important?
Because we are not producing babies fast enough to generate enough of a tax-base to support our long-lived selves in our dotage, if I understood the long-term care gal that came from the east to speak to us correctly ... certainly stuff to think about.
Some things retirees or soon-to-be retirees all seemed to agree on - what we are going to want as we age: quality of life, independence, freedom of choice, and dignity. Scariest stats she gave us, to my way of thinking, were the number of years of disability-free years versus the number of years of life expectancy - it varies greatly from province to province bit no matter how you slice it, it ain't pretty ...
